- Outside the bird nesting season (March 1st - August 31st under the Wildlife Act) is safest; we always check the hedge thoroughly if work is needed in that window.
- How often should hedges be trimmed?
- Formal hedges (box, yew, beech) usually need two trims a year; fast-growing conifer hedges like leylandii may need three; native hedgerows are best on a 2-3 year rotation.
- Can you restore an overgrown or neglected hedge?
- Yes, severely overgrown hedges can usually be brought back gradually over one or two seasons.
- Do you remove the cuttings?
- Yes, all trimmings are cleared and removed as part of the service.
- What hedge types do you work with?
- All common Irish hedge species, including leylandii, beech, hawthorn and privet.
